St Stephen's Church

GenR8 has been based in St Stephen's Church for some time now and this is a page to tell you a little more about what goes on there.
St Stephen's is a dynamic, growing and forward-looking church.  The church (that's the people, not the building) has a real heart for its local community of Moortown and the people who live there.  It also raises money for projects in Leeds and further afield in Uganda, Bethlehem and elsewhere.

Live. Love. Together.
The church operates under this banner - 3 simple words to encapsulate all that it is about and a way of summing up the simple but profound  and powerful message of our saviour Jesus Christ.
The activities of the church all come back to these three words and what they represent.  This is what we are about.

Won't somebody think of the children?...

Absolutely!  And there is an excellent young church group - Explorers - with an experienced and enthusiastic team of leaders.  Their sessions take place during the Sunday morning services, where they learn about the Gospel message and God's plans for us through play, art, craft, singing, stories and most of all, fun!  The group tends to have KS1 and KS2 children attending.

For the pre-schoolers, there is always space to play and draw at the back of the church - don't feel that you have to keep the children rooted to their seat through the service.  All we ask is that a parent/guardian stays with any children at the back as there is no separate supervision of this area.

Feeling creative?

We positively encourage it!  Dancing, flags and any creative movement is welcomed as part of your expression of worship.  There is often scope to worship through artwork too - if you need drawing/art materials then just ask one of the worship team for some assistance.
